About RECOVER

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created the Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER) Initiative to learn about the long-term effects of COVID. The RECOVER Initiative brings together scientists, clinicians, patients and caregivers to understand recovery from the long-term effects of COVID and how to predict, treat, and prevent the disease. To learn more about the initiative, visit recovercovid.org.

Researchers within and outside of RECOVER may request approval for ancillary studies. NIH defines an ancillary study as an independent research project that uses data or samples from a parent study to extend knowledge in scientific areas beyond the original scope of the parent study. Visit recovercovid.org/ancillary to learn more about the ancillary study approval process and view related resources.
